G'day, I'm Mick. I'm based out of Alice Springs and I've been touring the Australian outback for over 15 years.

When I first started heading off-grid, figuring out how much solar and battery power I needed was a nightmare. I'd either run out of power on day two, or I'd spend way too much money on gear I didn't actually need.

After years of trial and error, upgrading setups, and helping mates wire up their rigs, I decided to build this 4WD Solar Calculator. The goal is simple: to give you a realistic, no-nonsense estimate of what you need to keep your fridge cold and your camp lights on, without the guesswork.
